Okay, so there's some progress that's starting on the roofing, especially since much preparation had to go up before today. 

Why today, Wednesday, October 26th? 

Well it's not a big holiday, just the rest of our lumber from Kiev arrived with the carpenter and his team today and the interior finished pieces that will bear the load of the roof.

In the GARDEN

The guys that were there to help today worked hard, but there was a challenging couple bumps in the day, to say the least.

 Maxim working on getting the ground prepared for an apricot tree and Sergei finishing the wall around the garden plot before winter sets in.

Because the decorative metal work going along the back of the fence is not ready yet, we put up a temporary simple metal cover for the open space through the winter at our neighbor ladies request. She wants people to stay off her property, so we met her request.

It's just we put it on the wrong side of the brick wall that's up, and the neighbor watched the whole production and came to tell us as the last screws were being placed in loose spots that she wanted it on our side of the fence, not taking 10 cm from her side of the fence. So after a day of work and lots of complaint from the neighbor, as she will use those 10 cm through the winter, the guys began to take everything apart and begin again. 

Tomorrow I'll share with you the end results.

October 19th

Updates on the roof, well trusses for the roof

I think I got all the perspectives except the one from up on top, 

not fond of homemade ladders and heights.

Went tree hunting today, now is the time to transplant them.

If the home is going to be lived in, it needs to have some provision of shade and fruit.

We lost three of the trees through this last year, the summer was especially harsh and dry. Those we do have are doing very well.

We looked at a nursery across the river from Darivka, outside the town called Ingoo. 

There is already a town called Ingoolets on the river Ingoolest, so this one just took the shortened version.

This dirt road took us to a barred dirt path, we walked the rest of the way.

The three water towers are always a delight to my heart. They sit on the plot right next to where we will build Naomi's home for the young ladies.

So it's been a while since I've posted anything. Part of the challenge with building projects is that when builders deviate from the building plan it takes a while to get back on track, fix problems that have been created. Yes, it's taken us a full three weeks to fix the problem and get the supplies needed to begin building again. Grateful we are building again, but we're about a month and half behind schedule at this point. 
God has a plan, trusting.

October 17th, Monday morning

As there is no roof yet, with the rain we've had, it's been a challenge to keep this area fairly dry, the basement under it too.

Getting the the current trees in the garden prepared for winter, it's cold already.

Yes, that's fresh from the local gal with 2 cows. 

Gifted her a bit more than a dollar for this fine donation. 

We sorted through the fresh and older dried pieces, set the fresh aside to dry for next spring.

Very inexperienced here, so heavily dependant upon the advice of others, we got lots, 

often conflicting, so we did our best.

September 4th

getting the therapy garden ready for pouring a sidewalk

this required moving the gravel to the sidewalk from where the truck dumped it
we won't pour until spring, the ground is still shifting after refilling, 
the last big rain revealed this fact

this is about an eighth or less than what the pile looked like at the started of the day, 

it was a full truck load

we were all tired by the time 15:00 rolled around, especially because of the heat

August 26

Our back fence wall is beginning to take shape.

NOTE: This mess no longer exists, it has been removed of all metal pieces and sits in a corner of the garden nicely stacked.

Hopefully the sidewalk will be poured next Saturday, as long as we have no rain, and we have the crew we need to unload a truckful of cement.

Today I got to use my power drill/screw driver again, it'd been out of commission for quite some time as the "starter box" (maybe) had to be shipped from Germany.

And I used the circular saw, chopped some wood on my own - happy!

August 23rd

Oksana and I shared a bit of time watering the fruit trees,
